Vital Signs Monitors
Vital sign readings can automatically be read wirelessly by the TR&R® system. This saves the trauma nurse leader from having to enter these values manually, allowing the user to spend more time communicating with the trauma team.
The current TR&R® system supports a range of vital signs machines. The system has a flexible architecture allowing support of new vital signs machines easily and quickly, without rebuilding the main system.
Heads-Up Display (HUD)
In 2016 The Alfred team in collaboration with Monash University achieved funding for the integration of a novel Heads-Up Display hardware solution, TR&R® HUD to facilitate hands-free computer aided decision support and remote expert decision support for first responders. The TR&R® HUD at work will be demonstrated in clinical trials in 2018.
Video Cameras and Screen Capture
The TR&R® system has the ability to record the current session with a patient. By interfacing with a video camera, the system produces Windows Media Video files of the entire session, along with an overlay of the vital signs display.
The system also produces a video containing the screen capture of the touch screen interface for each session allowing retrospective analysis. Current work on the integration of a novel Heads-Up Display, TR&R® HUD will introduce point-of-view (POV) video record and secure screencast for remote expert decision support in real-time.
Data Storage
All information entered into the system during a session is stored in a patient data file. Each patient data file is uniquely numbered and stored on a separate server. In Q2 2017 work will begin on HL7 integration of data collected via the TR&R® system into the patients unique electronic health record (EHR). Development of a blockchain verified secure decentralized database TR&R® Data will focus on secure storage of deindentified, disaggregated data in a research database. This system will permit state-of-the-art medical research while preventing unauthorized mass collection of personally identifiable EHRs.
